iFace Series, 2005-2006
People listening to their iPods were stopped randomnly in the streets. This series engages an original face-to-face between two specific gazes upon the environment. On the one hand, there is the flâneur-photographer who uses his camera to focus on significant visible situations of the real world, without paying particular attention to soundscapes. On the other hand, the flâneur-listener whose gaze is continually shaped by the sonic dominance spread by his/her technological artifact. Thus, s/he adopts a distinctive aesthetic attention that spotlights the musicality of the immediate environment.
This work has been shown in No Right Turn and Accélération and published in com.in magazine, Abstract and Street Signs.
